This is Poin, she is one of my Thai teachers. Poin's mother passed away 2 months ago, and she invited me to her mother's wake. Talk about an adventure! 

These are Poin's friends that came from Bangkok to attend the funeral. All of the girls work at Lertlah with us.

The service lasted for 2 days, many of the women were friends of Poin's mother. 

I was always watched! 

I have a sick feeling this may be lunch! 

I was right, it is lunch! 

Wash station, no hot water, and not much soap.

I found Babe & he's not doing so good! Found out after that the meat is donated to the temple. 

This is the poor guys guts, they dug around and pulled out this sac. 

Here he is pouring the liquid from the sac into this dish, many of the men were eating it. Go figure!!  

This was breakfast, I was hoping for pork chops! 

All night long they played music at high volume so the monks would return the next day. I couldn't figure out why they couldn't just phone them! 

These women chew on some fruit or vegetable like chewing tabacco...and it makes their teeth & gums dark red.....gross!!!! 

I don't think many falangs come into the village!
